This custom 5‑axis CNC machined aluminum heat dissipation housing is precision milled from solid aluminum billet. Characterized by thin cooling fin structures and hollow lightweight cut‑outs. Optimized for motor heat dissipation. Support OEM & ODM custom fabrication according to your CAD drawings or samples.
Our heat‑dissipating housing is a high‑difficulty custom mechanical part manufactured by advanced 5‑axis CNC machining. Complex circumferential thin cooling fins and multi‑hollow inner cavities cannot be fully completed by ordinary 3‑axis milling or lathe work. All features are machined from solid metal billet instead of casting, delivering superior structural strength and stable dimensional performance.
We mainly apply 6061 and 7075 aluminum alloy as raw materials. 6061 aluminum has excellent thermal conductivity, ideal for general‑purpose motor heat‑sink components. 7075 aluminum provides higher mechanical strength for high‑load working scenarios. 303/304 stainless steel and brass are optional for special‑environment requirements.
The thin surrounding cooling fins are the core processing challenge. Our 5‑axis machining centers adopt optimized cutting parameters and rigid fixture setup to avoid fin vibration and deformation during milling. Central locating bores, mounting holes and multiple hollow weight‑reduction cut‑outs are finished in one‑or few‑time clamping to guarantee coaxiality, flatness and hole‑position accuracy.
After machining, every workpiece goes through careful deburring and edge passivation, especially for the sharp corners of thin fins. Ultrasonic cleaning removes cutting oil and fine metal chips. Surface treatment options include natural silver anodizing, colored anodizing and sandblasting. Anodizing improves surface hardness, wear resistance and anti‑corrosion ability while keeping good thermal conductivity.
Each component will receive full dimensional inspection before shipment. We can customize outer diameter, fin height & quantity, inner‑hole layout and surface finish per your STEP, IGES, DWG drawings or physical samples. Widely used for servo motors, stepping motors, new‑energy motor assemblies and other thermal‑dissipation‑required equipment.

Q1: What materials can you choose for this heat‑dissipation housing?
A: 6061 aluminum is our mainstream choice for great thermal conductivity. 7075 aluminum is for higher‑strength requirements. Stainless steel and brass are available for special working conditions. We can give material suggestions according to your working environment.
Q2: Why does this part require 5‑axis CNC machining?
A: It has groups of circumferential thin vertical cooling fins. Ordinary 3‑axis equipment cannot complete the full‑side milling of fins. 5‑axis machine achieves one‑setup multi‑angle processing and effectively reduces thin‑fin vibration‑deformation risk.
Q3: What surface finishes are available?
A: For aluminum parts: natural silver anodizing, black / blue colored anodizing, sandblasting. All parts will be deburred and ultrasonically cleaned.
Q4: What drawing formats do you accept for quotation?
A: STEP and IGES are preferred. DWG, DXF and PDF drawings with complete dimensions are acceptable. Physical samples are also welcomed if you have no digital drawings.
Q5: Can I modify fin quantity, fin height and hole layout?
A: Yes, it is full OEM custom part. Fin size, fin amount, inner‑hole structure and overall dimension can all be adjusted based on your design. No fixed standard size.
Q6: Do you support prototype sample order?
A: Yes. We support single‑piece prototype for function testing. Sample cost and lead time differ from bulk orders, please contact us for formal quotation.
Q7: How do you control quality for thin‑fin CNC parts?
A: We adopt special fixtures and optimized cutting parameters to avoid fin deformation. After machining, we perform deburring, edge passivation and ultrasonic cleaning. Full dimension inspection will be carried out before shipment. Inspection report can be provided upon request.
Q8: What is your MOQ?
A: No strict MOQ. We support 1‑piece prototype, small‑batch trial and large‑volume mass‑production.
